Iceland

As I sit on the couch covered up with my warm wool blanket from Iceland, I thought "I really need to update our blog!"  So here is an update, finally.  We took a trip to Iceland for our anniversary.  It was beautiful although cool and cloudy for most of our trip.

This speed sign would flash a sad face at you if you were speeding.

The best restaurant we ate at.  Quaint fish restaurant where they cooked whatever they were cooking that day and there was no menu- you just ate buffet style from what they served.

There were waterfalls everywhere!!!  We probably passed thousands on our drive around Iceland.

Cute little sheep families were also everywhere.  In the road, too- you had to be careful when driving.

These flowers were everywhere and reminded us of bluebonnets from Texas.

Adding a rock like a good tourist.

The Continental Divide.  One the left- the North American Plate, on the right the EurAsian Plate.

Waiting for the geysir to erupt!

Cute little random wool shop where we bought a wool blanket, made from wool from all of those sheep we saw!

The Blue Lagoon.

Would love to know how you pronounce this street name??

Christmas in TX

We had a great visit in Texas for Christmas.  Here's a pic of me and the hubs after Christmas Eve Mass.

It's kind of hard to tell, but they are finally taking down the scaffolding on the Washington Monument.  There was a bad earthquake here (last year, I think) and it did quite a bit of damage to the monument.  Since we moved to DC in August, the monument has been covered up with the scaffolding, but they are taking it down section by section.

Our niece sent Flat Stanley our way for a little DC adventure.  His first "to-do" was to take Luke for a ride.  Luke's not too sure about it.

The hubby had a little too much fun making our take on creme brulee.

Obligatory Luke picture.  I love that dog.

Costume Time

We went to a Halloween Party last weekend.  Daniel went as Mayhem from the Allstate Commercial.  He had a little too much fun burning and destroying his clothes.

Hayley went as a hashtag.  She had various people write out hashtags throughout the night.  In this picture, her hashtag is "Groupie"for the band playing at the party.

What we've been up to this past week

We went to a small airshow in Maryland.  Daniel had fun "shooting" the gun on a B-24.

Hayley went to visit some friends in southern Virginia.  We had a fun girls night out.

Daniel made his famous ribs.  YUM.
